Pamela Rudge (Mezzo soprano)         -       Mabel

Pamela Rudge trained at the Royal College of Music and has enjoyed a successful classical singing career as a mezzo soprano, specialising in oratorio, concert and recital work, performing in this country and abroad and having a wide repertoire ranging from early music to contemporary composers. This season she is singing works that include Rossini's "Petite Messe Solonelle", Mozart's "Requiem" and Elgar's "Sea Pictures", as well as presenting solo recitals in south west England. Pamela is equally at home on the operatic stage, most recently creating the role of Marie Coulette (a formidable pipe-smoking granny!) in the premiere of Eric Wetherell's "A Foreign Field", which achieved much national critical acclaim.

Pam has conducted numerous musical theatre shows and choral concerts, and is currently much in demand for running vocal workshops and singing courses in the UK and Europe, this year to include Cornwall, Warwick, Cheltenham Everyman Theatre and Switzerland.

Pamela began teaching singing at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 1995 alongside her singing work, joining the fulltime staff in 2002 and becoming Head of Music and Singing in 2008. She has been Musical Director and Singing Coach for many BOVTS shows, including the annual Nativity touring show, "Moonfleet" in 2013 and "The Good Soul of Szechuan" in 2012.  In June this year she was the MD for the critically acclaimed “London Road” staged at the Bristol Old Vic.
